Criteria to dual enroll:
- You must score a 430 on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and/or a 480 on the Math of the PSAT Test your sophomore year. Or an overall score of 900.
- You must have taken the highest level of CCHS offering in that particular subject area.
- You must have a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Keep in mind:
- You must enroll in at least 5 classes per semester at Columbia Central, though many students take 6 & 7 classes while dual enrolling. If you are taking the 5 classes your other two hours need to be enrolled at JC.
- If you have had an attendance problem at Columbia Central, you may want to be especially careful and honest when choosing dual enrollment.
- You must make sure that your college class does not interfere with your classes at Columbia Central. Scheduling desired classes at JC often does not work out for that reason.
- Be aware that each class that is taken at JC will only count as .50 credit and it will NOT be added value.
- College courses will appear on the high school transcript and will be part of the high school GPA starting in the fall of 2017.
- If you fail a dual enrolled class you will be expected to pay back the school district for the cost of the class.
